The Provincial Grand Master, RWBro Mark Constant accompanied by WBro George Bonham and VWBro Derek Young visited WBro Simon Mighall at his home on Thursday 23rd January 2025 to present him with a Golden Jubilee certificate in recognition of his outstanding services to the Craft over 50 years of membership.
WBro Simon was initiated on 15th January 1975 into Euston Lodge No2283 when he was 25 years old.
A member of no less than 10 Craft Lodges and 5 Chapters, Simon has served as master of 3 Lodges including his Old School lodge, Old Kimboltonians’ and also appointed MEZ on 4 occasions, twice at Euston Chapter.
Simon was promoted in the Craft to Provincial Grand Steward in 1985 and then again 4 years later as Provincial Senior Grand Warden.
Simon's work career was initially in banking where he met his wife Judith. Later, he worked at Mark Masons Hall in the secretariat and latterly from 2003 to 2023 he worked at UGLE again as part of the secretariat team.
Already a keen Mark Mason and in a number of other orders, during his time at Mark Masons Hall, he increased his memberships to another 13 orders administered from Mark Masons Hall, all in addition to Rose Croix and another 5 orders including Order of St Thomas of Acon, where he is currently the RW Grand Preceptor for the Province of South Midlands.
Simon said “I have been very fortunate that my role at Mark Masons Hall, meant I received 15 Grand Ranks by virtue of my position”.
However, it is also fair to say that his Grand Ranks in Craft, Chapter and The Mark were all very well earned in the traditional manner.
The PGM said, 'Simon has certainly made the most of his 50 Years in Freemasonry, and has always been a real support to more junior Masons as they navigate their Masonic journey through both Pure Ancient Freemasonry and beyond. He has also been an invaluable source of advice and information to Provincial Grand Masters of this and other provinces when difficult or complex issues arise. We congratulate him on 50 successful and productive years, and wish both him and his wife Judith all the very best in the future”.

Ian explained, 'It is very humbling how many brethren have given up their valuable time to welcome me to their lodges and centres. I have received wonderful encouragement and support throughout the whole Province. Thank you all.'
